Tajikistan life: Tour 7

Day 1: Dushanbe
We are glad to see you in Tajikistan. You will be met at the airport and transfer to Dushanbe. Today's day is dedicated to a guided city tour where you will Rudake Park, National library, White House, National state seal, and House of parliament. You will walk in National park to make photos of Ministry of Inner Affairs and see the biggest National Flag in the world of about 165 m high pole, 30 m wide, 60 m long. In the afternoon you will visit Central Museum and Gurminj Museum of traditional musical instruments. It is worth visiting the Asian bazar and enjoy by tasting fresh fruits and vegetables. Transfer to a hotel.

Day 2: Dushanbe - Norak - Kalai Khum
In the morning we will travel to Kalai Khum village. On the way we will admire the beauty of Norak water reservoir or Tajik Sea. You will driver over the Shuraba pass (2 267 m) and then along Afghanistan border. It belongs to Territory of Pamir Mountains. In general, Pamirs have encouraged the world's greatest explorers as Marco Polo, Hsuan Tsang, Mirza Muhammad Haidar. On the route we will pass over the natural border - Pyanj River and get inspiration of the greatest mountains! Night is in a homestay.  

Day 3: Kalai Khum - Khorog
The tour will start by driving to a small city of Khorog where you can see the rocky mountains from all four sides erected on the confluence of the 3 rivers where Shokhdara river and Ghund river flow into Pyanj river. On arrival, you will meet Pamir people where a high percentage of these people with blonde hair, fair skin and blue eyes. Pamirs Mountains are the highest mountains in the world with human population after the Himalayas in Tibet. Night is in a guesthouse.

Day 4: Khorog
This day will start by having a city tour. We will visit the Botanical Garden. The city is enclosed by many wonderful gardens. You will see Pamir Botanical Garden located at an altitude of 2320m above sea level on the coastal zone of the Shakhdara River with exclusive plants. Later on we will visit city park and handicraft shop, museum as well as a local bazar where we can learn more about interesting facts about Pamirian people. Overnight is in a guesthouse.

Day 5: Khorog - Kalai Khum  
In the morning we will drive from Khorog to Kalai Khum seeing the high rocky mountains over 6 000 meters. Driving via the Pamirs, travelers have an opportunity to see the beauty of virgin environs and learn more about history and everyday life of mountain inhabitants. In addition, we will stop in small villages to interconnect with local people and to see their lifestyle. On the other side of the river you will see Afgan stony villages and wonderful gardens. Rest is in a home stay.

Day 6: Kalai Khum - Khoburubot - Dushanbe
The day will start by travelling to Dushanbe via mountain road over the high Khoburubot Pass (3 252) or Western Pamir Tract. The highway drives by the most charming river valley and remarkable gorges in the land. Upon arrival we will see small villages and meet local people which are very hospitable and open. This people importantly esteems its backgrounds and folklore and enchanted by the beauty of wild nature. Transfer to a hotel for sleep.

Day 7: Dushanbe - Khujand
The last day of our travel will start by having tour to Khujand city over Anzob pass (3 372 m) with astonishing panorama views. Khujand is the second largest city of Tajikistan and placed on the Syr Darya River at the Fergana Valley. The population of the city is 149,000. In general, it was capital of the northernmost province of Tajikistan (nowadays Sughd). Visit in the afternoon a Cultural Palace of Khujant where the first president of Tajikistan was chosen as well as the Central Mosque can be found in the middle of the city. Night is in a hotel.

Day 8: Flight
In the morning is transfer to the airport. Flight to the next destination. Thank you.
