Day 1: Ashgabat
We are glad to see our travelers in Turkmenistan. You will be met at the airport and transfer to Ashgabat city. Upon arrival, you will visit "Nisa" (UNESCO World Heritage since 2007) located 18 km to the west from Ashgabat and oversee the remains of Nisa, which was the capital of ancient Parthia. In the III century BC New Nisa was the capital of Parthia and the Old Nisa fortress was a grand residence. The next destination of our tour is Ertugrul Gazi mosque. It is decked with four snow-white minarets, and is comparable in form to the well-known Blue Mosque, situated in Istanbul. The external and internal scheme of the Azadi Mosque is made in old-time Islamic and Byzantine style and assaults with its magnitude and alteration. The tour will be continued to the Gypjak, Ruhy mosque. It means "the mosque of Turkmenbashi spirituality" or "the mosque of spirit of Turkmenbashi". Actually, the mosque is located in Gypjak in the Turkmenbashi village as well as encircled by 4 minarets. The height of the mosque is 55 m, and that of the minarets is 91 m to indicate the year 1991 when Turkmenistan has got independence. It has 9 entries with arches. Transfer to a hotel for rest.
Day 2: Ashgabat - Turkmenabad
After breakfast, we will visit medieval mosque Seyit Jemaletdin, assembled in the XV century. Regrettably, the building was almost destroyed by the Ashgabat earthquake, and nowadays it comes in front of the tourist in a reconditioned version. The mosque is carved with an inscription saying that this building was erected under Abul Kasim Babur, Temurid prince who was reigning in Khorasan (1447- 1457). The main door arch is adorned with statistics of tremendous dragons. Afterwards we will visit Abiverd, the prehistoric settlement of Turkmenistan laterally with Kunya Urgench, Nissa, Merv, Dakhistan and so on. Abiverd was a secure fort protecting the residents from the outbreaks of itinerants. The fort had the only gate from the southwest. Inside, in the center, near the square there was a mosque founded in the early 15th century. In addition, we will visit Merv as one of the most ancient territories of Central Asia that announced irrigation system amid the first. It controlled to the realization of one of the largest cities of ancient world as Merv (Margush, Margiana, Mary). The storytellers broadly used positive epithets calling it "a soul of a king, a mother of Khurasan cities, and, the city that detained the Universe. Omar Khayyam, As Samani, Imamaddin Isphakhani and other prodigious theorists of the Middle Ages lived there. Transfer to Turkmenabad. Night is in a hotel.
Day 3: Turkmenabad - Astana baba - Kerki village - Turkmenabad
This tour will start by visiting Repetek biospheric reserve with its museum and Astana mausoleum. The mausoleum is a part of the commemorative compound containing of a mosque and a tomb constructed in different periods. They are located next to each other that it is problematic to visualize the original shape of the structure. The mausoleum of Astana baba is a 11th - 12th-century monument of architecture. It is the place of "zyuarat" as a steady ritual of worshipping pilgrims. This place is considered sacred. Overnight is in a motel.
Day 4: Turkmenabad - Mary - Merv
Today we will drive to Merv, Merv oasis. It is 40 km from Mary and defined to be one of the most ancient territories of Central Asia that presented irrigation system among the first. It ran to the development of one of the largest cities of ancient world as Merv (Margush, Margiana, Mary). The source of Merv is masked in secrecies. One fact is known for sure, however - the first written references to this city were found in Avestian chronicles of about the 8-6th centuries B.C. The reporters widely used bright epithets naming it "a soul of a king, a mother of Khurasan cities, and, the city that held the Universe. Omar Khayyam, As - Samani, Imamaddin Isphakhani and other great scholars of the Middle Ages lived there. Later on we will visit Soltan Sanjar mausoleum, Erk gala, Gawur gala, Soltan gala, Kichi vs Uly gyz gala and others. Night is in a hotel.
Day 5: Mary - Ashgabat - Darwaza
The tour will start by driving to Ashgabat. In the afternoon we will visit Darwaza gas carter or so called "The Gates of Hell." This crater was generated in 1971 when a Soviet coaching gear inadvertently stamped into an enormous subversive natural gas cavern, triggering the ground to failure and the whole coaching gear to fall in. Then a pocket of gas, toxic fumes began leaking at a distressing rate. Today it became a popular place to wild camp. Night is in a camp style.
Day 6: Darwaza - Ashgabat
In the morning we will drive back to Ashgabat and visit water and mud crater, and Yerbent village. In the evening is a city tour in Ashgabat. Transfer to a hotel for sleep.
Day 7: Flight
End of the tour. Have a safe flight!
